This is a plea to Orlando’s artists. Orlando Shakespeare Theater is looking for artwork to display in its lower lobby, in the tall glass-enclosed space between the two lower-lobby doors. Here’s a photograph of the space, and here’s the call to artists:

Opportunity for Budding Artists
The Orlando Shakespeare Theater in Partnership with UCF invites artists to showcase their work in the John and Rita Lowndes Shakespeare Center.
The Orlando Shakespeare Theater is looking artwork to display in their lower lobby glass enclosure that will enhance the guest experience and add architectural interest. The space itself is 9’3” by 8’6” with a height of 16’. The pieces must be able to withstand heat, as the space is not air-conditioned. The load in area of the space is 6’11” in height with a width of 38”. Artists may choose to sell their products and set their own prices.
The showcase is open to all visual artists above the age of 18 and we accept all media with the exception of video art, film, performance art, jewelry and crafts. Novices and professionals are welcome to submit their piece for consideration.
Entering the call for art is easy. To be considered for this unique opportunity, please submit photos or samples of the work you wish to showcase, an artist statement or bio, and a short description of the piece no later than Wednesday, August 18 to:
