Opening this weekend

Maybe there’s more out there, but these two things are likely to keep you very busy — one for a very short period of time, the other for the next 10 days.

  • The latter of course, is PlayFest, the Harriett Lake Festival of New Plays, at the Lowndes Shakespeare Center from Friday April 2 through Sunday April 11. You can find all the details at
  • And the former is the annual Pillowlando (I’m sorry — I just can’t do the all caps thing), Brian Feldman’s very large pillow fight. Here are details:

No, THIS is the event you’ve been waiting for.

Time: April 3, 2010 from 5pm to 5:30pm
Location: Wall Street Plaza
Organized By: Brian Feldman Projects
Event Description:

PILLOWLANDO MMX – Orlando’s Official 2010 International Pillow Fight Day Event, timed to coincide with over 130 pillow fights in cities around the world. This is the event you’ve been waiting all year for. Learn more about International Pillow Fight Day @!

All interested PILLOWLANDO MMX participants should bring a pillow to Wall Street Plaza at 5:00 PM and wait for the signal. “Pillow fight!” At that time, pillows will swing and whack as those assembled experience a massive urban pillow fight. It’s free and a ridiculous amount of fun.

Orlandoans who love free, fun, public events like pillow fights, creative interventions, games and interactive art installations are invited to show up and take part, as well as all curious tourists and other Central Floridians who find out about it as International Pillow Fight Day and PILLOWLANDO MMX draws near.

Oh yeah, and that same day is BarCampOrlando! Also free, so attend both!
