GOAT looking for idols

Greater Orlando Actors Theatre will hold its own version of American Idol Friday and Saturday nights to raise money to get its back into its own Winter Park theater. The fundraiser, a concert called Broadway Idol, will be at the Breakthrough Theatre, also in Winter Park.

Greater Orlando Actors Theatre will be performing Broadway Idol, a benefit concert this Friday April 9 and Saturday April 10, 2010. The show is a concert that will feature famous songs from Broadway greats such as Rodgers and Hammerstein, Andrew Lloyd Webber, Stephen Sondheim and more. The show will be presented in the style of American Idol and the audience gets to decide which writer/composer will go to the next round to become your next Broadway Idol. Proceeds from this benefit will go towards the completion of GOAT’s new and improved facility on Cherry Street, which will be ready to go by the beginning of summer.

Broadway Idol will be presented this Friday and Saturday at 8pm. The performances will take place at Breakthrough Theatre, located at 419A W Fairbanks Ave. Winter Park.
