More on the mysterious ‘Project: F’

Yesterday I ran an audition notice for Project: F, a theater project spearheaded by Aradhana Tiwari and others. Here’s more info on what exactly it is:

Orlando performance art company brings Facebook to the stage

Orlando company Play the Moment Productions will debut its newest devised piece, Project: F, June 11 through June 20 at Lowndes Shakespeare Center.

There is an era that future generations will refer to as “B.F.”: Before Facebook.

In the last five years, there has been an explosion of social networking as our many communities have migrated to the Internet. Every day, millions of people are participating in an invisible grid and status-ing their lives on a public notebook. Project: F will explore the many facets of social networking and community on the Internet through the lens of Facebook using a theatrical microscope.

Project: F will have a special emphasis on process and development, and the entire cast and crew will participate in creating this original work. Our devising ensemble will be comprised of people from all artistic disciplines: Actors, dancers, musicians, designers, visual artists, and mixed media programmers.

In 2009, Play The Moment launched its first devised project: Orson Welles’ War Of The Worlds, in collaboration with Questionable Productions, which was well received in the community. Anne Bogart and her New York City based SITI Company’s American Document inspired and encouraged us to continue to pursue process-based devised theater of an order not seen anywhere else in Central Florida. Ms. Bogart used an actor/dancer formula as SITI joined forces with the Martha Graham Dance Company to create that piece.  With that same spirit of collaboration, Play The Moment and Artistic Director Aradhana Tiwari are partnering with many of the powerhouses of the Orlando performing art community to create Project: F, including Voci Dance, Beth Marshall, John DiDonna, Brian Feldman, Marty Stonerock, and many others.  Aradhana Tiwari recently studied with Anne Bogart and the SITI company through a professional development grant from United Arts of Central Florida.

Performances of Project: F will be held Friday, June 11 at 8 pm, Saturday, June 12 at 8 pm, Sunday, June 13 at 6 pm, Friday, June 18 at 8 pm, Saturday, June 19 at 3 pm & 8 pm, and Sunday, June 20 at 6 pm in the Goldman Theater at the Lowndes Shakespeare Center in beautiful Loch Haven Park.  All Tickets are $12 in advance, $15 at door, and are available for purchase at
