Stage manager needed for ‘Celery Soup’

Celery Soup, the Sanford history-based community-theater production that begins this fall, needs to hire a stage manager. Here are the particulars:

Stage Manager for upcoming Community Production in Sanford

Creative Sanford, Inc. is interviewing for the stage manager position for their upcoming community production, Celery Soup.  The position would be needed for August 2010 rehearsals and the production following in October and again in spring 2011.

Duties will be to manage rehearsals, actors, designers, props and costume fittings, as well as managing the performances on stage and liaising with the box office and front of house staff.

Candidate will be responsible for the smooth running of the Celery Soup performance.  In addition, this role will be a vital link between the artistic and technical aspects of a show. The stage manager insures that everyone and everything involved in the production, from actors and technicians to props and lighting is in the right place, at the right time.

Successful candidate will be working with the internationally known team of Community Performance, Inc.  Director Richard O. Geer and writer Jules Corriere will bring a team consisting of a composer, set designer, lighting designer, choreographer and costume designer.

But most important, the stage manager sets the tone of love and respect in the Community Performance rehearsal room.
