The point of the group will be getting the word out to the community about Orlando Shakes, along with sponsoring the season’s opening-night parties and mixing with the theater’s actors and staff.

Orlando Shakes Announces Volunteer Membership Drive
Theater Lovers Welcome!
The Orlando Shakespeare Theater Ambassadors are holding a membership drive on Thursday, June 24, 2010 from 6:30 p.m. – 8 p.m. in the Dr. Phillips Patrons Room at the Lowndes Shakespeare Center.
Theater lovers are invited to an evening filled with abundant refreshments, Shakespearean readings, and a chance to discover the liveliest way to support the Orlando Shakespeare Theater, including hosting opening night cast and crew parties. “It’s going to be an exciting year for this organization and Orlando Shakespeare Theater,” said OST Ambassador President April Montgomery. “I’m looking for enthusiastic new members to get involved!”
The Orlando Shakespeare Theater Ambassadors is a volunteer organization of dynamic individuals who serve as advocates for Orlando Shakes and share a passion for Shakespeare, theater, and the arts. Its purpose is to support the Orlando Shakespeare Theater by organizing cast and crew parties, fostering the next generation of theater artists, and increasing awareness of the theater within the community.
Some of the benefits and commitments for members of the OST Ambassadors include:
- Attending Orlando Shakespeare Theater plays through a season subscription
- Sponsoring opening night cast and crew parties for all shows. Members can attend this private party with the cast and crew.
- Networking at monthly meetings and meeting the staff and creative team at Orlando Shakes
- Creating community awareness of Orlando Shakespeare Theater
