Titusville announces next season

Here’s a season announcement from the Titusville Playhouse (and if any of you other local theaters have 2010-2011 announcements, please send them my way):

Titusville Playhouse, Inc. announces our 26th season

We are entering our second quarter century of producing quality live theater at the Historic Emma
Parrish Theatre with a fantastic slate of shows!

On our Main Stage we will be performing five shows that our audiences have been requesting:

Main Stage

  • The Wizard of Oz – Presented through Tams-Witmark Music Library; runs Aug. 6 to 22
  • Barefoot in the Park – Presented through Samuel French, Inc.; runs Sept. 24 to Oct. 9
  • Godspell – Presented through Theatre Maximus; runs Nov. 5 to 21
  • Seven Brides for Seven Brothers – Presented through Music Theatre International; runs Feb. 18 to March 6
  • Run For Your Wife – Presented through Samuel French, Inc.; runs April 29 to May 14

Emma’s Attic, our fully functioning Black box theater, will have three intense productions this season:

Emma’s Attic Series

  • The Knife Trick – Presented by special permission from the playwright; runs Oct. 22 to 31
  • Cannibal the Musical – Written by Trey Parker, co-creator of South Park; runs Jan. 7 to 15
  • Othello – by William Shakespeare; runs May 13 to 21

The Children’s Theater Arts Department will be producing three children’s favorites and one school
show:

Rising Stars Theatre

  • A Christmas Carol – Based on the book by Charles Dickens; school performance on Dec. 9; Theater performances run Dec. 10 to 12
  • Aladdin Jr. – Presented through special arrangement with Music Theatre International; School performance on March 24; Theater performances run March 25 to 27
  • Improv – A Rising Stars special performance; runs April 8 & 9

School Shows

  • School House Rock – Presented through special arrangement with Music Theatre International; School performances run Oct. 11 to 15; Theatre performances run Oct. 15 & 16

In other news, Historic Emma Parrish Theater has been undergoing a major refurbishment this past
year. These continuous renovations will enable us to perform the quality live theater that our
audiences in Central Florida have expected from our Playhouse for the past quarter century.

    Oh man, I love Cannibal the Musical! I can’t believe it’s being done in Titusville. “Let’s make a snowman…” Fun stuff! Can’t wait to see it!
