Audition notice for Vampire Lesbians of Sodom

Auditions will be held at Theatre Downtown Sunday, June 20 at 7pm for Vampire Lesbians of Sodom, a comic melodrama written by Charles Busch and directed by Tim DeBaun. Callbacks will be held on Wednesday, June 23 at 7pm. Auditioners will be asked to read material from the script (sides provided at the theatre).

Synopsis: One of the longest running plays in Off-Broadway history, Vampire Lesbians of Sodom tells the saga of two fatally seductive vampires whose paths first collide in ancient Sodom. Their bitter rivalry as bloodsuckers – but more importantly, as actresses – endures for two thousand years with stops along the way in 1920’s silent movie Hollywood and contemporary Las Vegas.

The following roles are all available (gender/age not necessarily a factor):

The Succubus – the original vampire (male, 35-50)
La Condesa – the virgin sacrifice (male, 20–30)
Oatsie Carewe – a gossip columnist (male or female, 30-50)
Renee/Tracy – a silent screen vamp and aspiring actress (female, 20’s)
King Carlisle – a silent movie idol (male, 20’s)
Etienne – a butler (male or female, 35-45)
Chorus – four in shape dancer-types (male and female, 20’s)

VLOS will be performed at Theatre Downtown. Performances will be late night end of July/August & 8 PM mid August.
