The Story: a practical young girl (of 6-8 years), Susan, lives with her no-nonsense mother, Doris, who works for Macy’s department store in NYC. A city-wide sensation is caused by a gentleman named Kris Kringle who arrives to be Macy’s Santa Claus for the season and inadvertently creates a wave of holiday generosity and good cheer by helping shoppers find the toys they want for Christmas, whether purchased at Macy’s or not. Innocently defending his identity as the one-and-only Santa, Kris is put on trial for lunacy. An attorney, Fred Gailey, must prove in court that Kris is truly Santa, and potentially win the hearts of both Susan and Doris.
