Theater auditions: ‘Miracle on 34th Street’ in Kissimmee

Auditions for Miracle on 34th Street

The Osceola Center for the Arts is holding auditions for the holiday play Miracle on 34th Street Sunday, October 17 and Monday, October 18 from 6-8pm.  Auditions will be held at the Center and are open to the public.  Actors may attend either evening and will be asked to read from the script.  All roles are available and include the following characters:

  • Susan Walker – a young girl (should look 6-8 years old)
  • Doris Walker – Susan’s mother
  • Kris Kringle – an older gentlemen (will need to resemble Santa Claus)
  • Fred Gailey – the Walker’s neighbor
  • Mr. Shellhammer
  • Mr. Macy
  • Mr. Gimble
  • Judge Harper
  • Ensemble:  several roles for adults & children

The play is adapted from the Valentine Davies novel and the film of the same title, which starred Maureen O’Hara as Doris Walker and a young Natalie Wood as Susan.

Miracle on 34th Street runs December 3 -12 on Fridays and Saturdays at 7:30pm and Sundays at 2pm and will be directed by Mary Beth Finley. Finley directed last year’s holiday show at the Center, It’s a Wonderful Life: The Radio Play, and has appeared on-stage in several Central Florida productions including The Music Man, Bleacher Bums, Seussical and Into the Woods.
