Denise Kline, the mother of an 11-year-old who has been active in musical theater, wants to start a theater club for kids 10-13. The club will be in east Orlando so the child would have to have transportation to get out that way.
Sounds like a nice idea and a wonderful way to get kids going to theater.
Here’s Denise’s request and a way to get in touch with her:
My 11-year-old has been involved in musical theatre for a few years with Avalon School of Music, Avalon School of Dance, Orlando Youth Theatre, Orlando Rep Theatre, Magic Curtain Productions and Pulse Performance Studio.
We are starting a tween club. I am a stay-at-home mom. The club details are on Facebook at http://www.facebook.com/notes.php?drafts&id=100001385592483#!/group.php?gid=116259695098761
The requirements are 10-13, LOVE musical theatre, and have transportation to East Orlando’s Stoneybrook Community for 4:30 on Mondays. We will study, watch musical-theatre films and got to shows. On the weekend that we have a show to attend there will be no Monday meeting.
It is free except for ticket prices to shows, any supplies I might ask for and a rotating healthy drink and snack schedule.
