Circus auditions: Cirque du Soleil

Here’s an audition announcement for athletes and circus performers from Cirque du Soleil:

Cirque du Soleil is seeking new talent for its current shows and upcoming creations and will be holding separate auditions for athletes and circus performers in Orlando in May 2011.

At the core of the creative energy of Cirque du Soleil shows are athletes, acrobats and artists at the pinnacle of their art. Each artist is an integral part of the originality of Cirque du Soleil productions, and everyone’s contribution is essential to the success of the cast. Every year, the Casting team casts its nets far and wide to find hundreds of artists. Auditions are also held to discover and assess new artists.

Athletes (artistic, acrobatic and rhythmic gymnasts, divers, trampolinists, tumblers, etc.) are invited to meet the Cirque du Soleil Casting team and audition on Saturday, May 7.  Registration begins promptly at 12:30 P.M. and auditions are held from 1 to 9 P.M. at Orlando Metro Gymnastics (details below).  Call backs will be held the following day from 10 A.M. to 1 P.M.  Circus artists should apply online at cirquedusoleil.com/jobs.
