Auditions for shows on Norwegian Cruise Line

Here’s an audition notice for singers, dancers and actors from Norwegian Cruise Line for its Hawaii cruises:

Attention, all Gleeks and Hollywood musical freaks. Come be a part of two brand-new shows on Norwegian Cruise Line’s Pride of America in Hawaii. First, a pop/rock original musical that features two rival glee clubs who travel to Hawaii for a fun-filled “Elvis” sing-off in hopes of winning the world championship. Then take a journey through the glitz and glamor of the Hollywood-movie musical that highlights some of the greatest song and dance moments in history. So, “Get out your tap shoes, Francis, Norwegian Cruise Line is doin’ a show!”

We are seeking diverse singers, singer/dancers, dancers and actors; all must have the ability to play multiple characters.

Singers: Prepare 16 bars of your best pop/rock vocals! Bring your audition songbook as you may be asked to sing a variety of vocal styles. If you tap, don’t forget your tap shoes!!!

Dancers: Be prepared to learn a variety of dance styles and bring your tap shoes. Tumble and partner skills a plus! No bulky clothing.

Actors: We are seeking strong comedic actors with musicality and improv skills. Actors must be able to play multiple characters, and ability to do a jazz square is a plus! (Tap not required.) Please prepare a brief comedic monologue and a contemporary pop/rock song. Bring sheet music in the correct key, accompanist provided. Sides will be provided.

Breakdown:

  • Hollywood Movie Musical Revue: Hosts – 30’s-40’s, all races/ethnic backgrounds and sizes. Think Whoopi Goldberg and Billy Crystal.
  • Rock A Hula Luau: Multiple characters; play the roles of the “adults” to the glee clubs.
