Melon Patch to celebrate 60 years

Leesburg’s little community theater, the Melon Patch, is using this weekend to mark its 60th anniversary. Here’s news of its diamond-jubilee celebration (and if you’re going to make a reservation, do it today!):

The Melon Patch Theater proudly announces its 60th Anniversary Diamond Jubilee Dinner & Dance scheduled for Friday, May 6 at Main Street Receptions located at 200 East Main Street, Leesburg. This party has been 60 years in the making, so it’s sure to rock the house.

Everyone get on your feet for an electrifying party. The Standing Hamptons is Central Florida’s favorite band, playing all of your dance favorites.

Redsauce Italian Restaurant will cater a scrumptious meal for your dining pleasure. The cash bar opens at 6:30 PM and dinner will be served at 7 PM.

There will be a live auction for a diamond jewel sponsored by Garner Jewelers and a 7-day vacation get-away in Cedar Key sponsored by Nature’s Landing. Door prizes and a 50/50 raffle too!

Put on your dancing shoes because the fun doesn’t stop until the cows come home.

This will be an event to remember. Tickets are only $35 per person and can be purchased at the Melon Patch box office by calling 352-787-3013. Bring your honey or buy a table; just don’t be late for the party.
