Visual Fringe to display more than 100 pieces of art

Visual Fringe, the visual-art aspect of the Orlando International Fringe Theatre Festival, has been installed and will open Wednesday night with 128 works of art, most of them for sale. The exhibit will be in and around the Patrons’ Room at the Lowndes Shakespeare Center in Loch Haven Park.

Here’s a brief explanation of Visual Fringe, followed by a list of the artwork for sale:

Visual Fringe is Orlando Fringe’s visual art component of the festival. Visual Fringe producer Anna McCambridge-Thomas, Visual Fringe assistant producer Arwen Lowbridge and their team of volunteers spent the weekend accepting art submissions and artistically directing this year’s Visual Fringe art gallery, which opens to the public as part of the Fringe Gala Kick-Off immediately following our ribbon-cutting ceremony on the Green Lawn of Fabulousness in Loch Haven Park, Wednesday. May 18.

The Visual Fringe Gallery is on the walls of Lowndes Shakespeare Center and features 128 artworks of varying media: paintings, drawings, jewelry, sculpture, collage, mixed media & photography by more than 80 of Central Flordia’s finest artists. Most all of the artwork is for sale, and 100% of the proceeds go directly back to the artists.

The Visual Fringe Gallery is free to the public and open during the operating hours of Orlando Fringe May 18-29. To purchase art, visit our Visual Fringe table in the Patrons’ Room. Cash or credit card payments are accepted. Artwork may be picked up on Monday, May 30 between noon and 6pm.

For more info on Visual Fringe visit OrlandoFringe.org or contact Anna McCambridge-Thomas at VisualFringe@OrlandoFringe.org.

  1. Terry Olson

I even entered a piece this year! (A3)

  2. As I like, it there are several “cross overs” in the exhibit, meaning several people well-known for their acting have submitted visual art this year. What a great reunion this is going to be!
