Help your favorite arts group through ‘The Arts Matter’ campaign

Want to raise money for your favorite arts group? Vote for it through United Arts The Arts Matter! campaign, which begins at 8 a.m. today (Wednesday, June 1) and continues through Tuesday June 14.

Here’s how to play:

Last August, United Arts of Central Florida launched TheArtsMatter.com, created as an advocacy tool and outlet for arts enthusiasts, donors, and artists. Since its inception, hundreds of people from across the nation have logged on to share their personal experiences, memories, and emotions connected to the arts.

In support of The Arts Matter initiative, United Arts announces a quick and easy voting campaign, The Arts Matter. Your Vote Matters!, which will run for 14 days, from 8 a.m. on Wednesday, June 1 through 11:59 p.m. on Tuesday, June 14, 2011. In about two minutes, you can help your favorite local arts organization win $5,000. Organizations that have received funding through United Arts within the last three years are eligible to participate.

The purpose of this voting campaign is two-fold: to raise awareness about the many arts and cultural organizations right here in our own backyard; and to drive traffic to TheArtsMatter.com. Through this initiative, United Arts hopes to encourage community involvement and advocate support of quality cultural experiences for every taste and pocketbook.

To cast your vote, visit TheArtsMatter.com between June 1 and June 14 and click on the The Arts Matter. Your Vote Matters!. You will see a list of eligible organizations; when you click on one, a new page will open that takes you directly to their portrait on Community Foundation of Central Florida’s knowledge base, a community-wide database of nonprofit information. Your vote will automatically be counted when you click-through to the organization of your choice. Only one vote per person per organization will be counted. While you’re at TheArtsMatter.com, don’t forget to share why The Arts Matter to YOU, and get a free car magnet for your participation!
