Major responsibilities include 1.Supervising lighting equipment and personnel (including students) in the set-up, running and breakdown of department productions. 2. Maintaining all lighting equipment, including accurate inventories of all equipment, supplies and expendables.
Duties include: General coordination with the TD in day-to-day operations of the program with specific responsibility for the supervision, organization, maintenance, installation, and operation of the electrical equipment and production support spaces of the department production program. Works closely with students, providing mentorship and supervision during the installation, operation, and strike of the department’s lighting equipment.
Perform related work as required.
Needs to enjoy working with college age students and display a positive attitude, flexibility, and excellent electrical skills.
Prefer candidate to have a bachelor’s degree in theatre or related field and significant experience in theatre lighting and sound. The ideal candidate would hold an MFA in theatre technology or design with emphasis in lighting or sound, with evidence of experience in multiple areas of theatre technology.
