Enzian has lots in store this summer for fans of opera and ballet, with six filmed operas and ballets beginning this weekend. Here’s the rundown:
- Swan Lake performed by the Bolshoi Ballet, July 2 at 11 a.m.
- La Traviata by Giuseppe Verdi, July 16 at 11 a.m.
- Giselle performed by the Royal Ballet, August 6 at 11 a.m.
- The Magic Flute by W.A. Mozart, August 20 at 11 a.m.
- Don Quixote performed by the Bolshoi Ballet, September 3 at 11 a.m.
- The Barber Of Seville by Gioachino Rossini, September 17 at 11 a.m.

Enzian’s fourth on-screen summer culture series will now feature an extraordinary lineup of opera and ballet performances, filmed in high-definition and showcased in spectacular digital cinema. Featuring the world’s most famous and adored works performed by the greatest opera and ballet companies – including the Royal Opera, the Bolshoi and the Royal Ballet – the “Opera and Ballet on the Big Screen” series will begin July 2.
All screenings begin at 11 a.m. and this year’s opera lineup will feature classics and crowd favorites La Traviata by Verdi, Mozart’s The Magic Flute, as well as Rossini’s The Barber Of Seville. Ballet performances will showcase a captivating Royal Ballet production of Giselle, and two Bolshoi productions – classics Swan Lake and Don Quixote, which star internationally acclaimed dancer Natalia Osipova.
Season passes to attend all opera or ballet performances are $49.50 each, and holders will receive discounted admission tickets as well as table reservation privileges for all performances. Individual tickets are $20 or $17.50 for members of the Enzian Film Society. Groups of 20 or more can take advantage of the $25 “Lunch and a Show” package.
