Send your best leg-breaking thoughts to singer-pianist Chris Leavy, who’s taking his hit Fringe show I’m Just Not That Gay to New York July 13 and then on to the Kansas City Fringe July 22-29.
Here are the details:
Hot on the heels of a successful run and sold-out performance at the Orlando International Fringe Theatre Festival, local music director and performer Christopher Leavy takes his one-man show I’m Just Not That Gay on the road, playing New York and Kansas City in the coming weeks. The show will play at the popular NYC cabaret Don’t Tell Mama (www.donttellmamanyc.com) on Wednesday, July 13, and then the Kansas City International Fringe Theater Festival (www.kcfringe.org) on July 22, 23, 25, 28 and 29 at the Living Room.
I’m Just Not That Gay is a humorous and ultimately heart-warming look at one man’s attempt to find his place in the gay world, with stories and songs about coming out, activism, stereotypes and more. This show took two Audience Choice Awards (for best show in venue and best musician), and the “Faggy Fabby” (a producer’s award for outstanding gay-themed show) at the Orlando International Fringe Theater Festival last May.
This project is funded in part by a Professional Development Grant from United Arts of Central Florida.
