Robin Jensen joins Florida Opera Theatre

Robin Jensen, an Orlando Opera alum and a frequent collaborator at Mad Cow Theatre, is joining Florida Opera Theatre as its director of youth programs. Robin is also artistic director for UCF’s opera program and head of the music program at New School Preparatory Orlando.

Florida Opera Theatre is proud to announce the appointment of Robin Jensen as Director of Youth Programs.

Ms. Jensen has a MM in Piano Performance from Drake University with additional opera and piano collaboration studies from the San Francisco Conservatory of Music. Robin is currently Artistic Director of the UCF Opera Program and also coaches in the opera workshop program at Rollins College. She has been a Music Director for Mad Cow Theater since 2004 and is in her 10th season as Artistic Director for Camp Madhatter, a summer intensive music theater camp in Minnesota.

Most recently, Robin was Children’s Chorus Master for the OPO concert opera productions of Carmen and La Boheme. Robin also served as the first Director of Education and Music Administration with the former Orlando Opera Company, where she served as the company’s Assistant Conductor, and Conductor of several productions as well as developed and nurtured their Resident Artist Program and founded their Children’s Opera Company programs from 1989-1997. When not at the opera or theater, Robin’s studio is part of New School Preparatory, where she is the Director of Musical Studies.
