Orlando Shakes giving ticket deals to military

Bob Carr Broadway series to sell 3-ticket packages

This is promising news for those of you who are dying to see a handful of the shows coming to Bob Carr this season but aren’t interested at all in the rest. It’s a three-ticket package for the Broadway Across America Orlando series, and it goes on sale this Friday.

So you could see Rock of Ages, West Side Story and Hair for $138 and up. (How did they know those three are the ones I want to see?)

Or you could see Wicked, Shrek and Young Frankenstein for $139.50 and up.

The packages go on sale at 10 a.m. Friday Sept. 24. Here’s the official word:

Free ’39 Steps’ tickets for Equity members

Nice ticket deals on ‘Godot’

Relevant Theatrics is offering savings on tickets for its production of Waiting for Godot, which continues with an industry night Monday Aug. 9 and then with regular performances Aug. 13-15.

Tickets will be $12 general, or two for $20, for all remaining performances. For tickets, call 407-809-5266.

Eat out, and help the arts

Here’s a nice deal. Go out to eat, save some money (or at least spend less), and the restaurant will donate $1 for every meal you buy to the Arts and Cultural Alliance of Central Florida.

September is Orlando Magical Dining Month, so you can eat for $30 at a bunch of good (and usually more expensive) places, including Antonio’s on Sand Lake, Chez Vincent, Crave, Cuba Libra, Emeril’s, Fleming’s, the Funky Monkey, Le Coq au Vin, the Ravenous Pig, Seasons 52, Taverna Opa and many more.

Disney theater seats gone, but there’s more

Congratulations to Trish Thompson of Creative Sanford (that’s the organization that’s producing the community-wide theater/oral history project called Celery Soup) for snapping up the Disney theater seats that Cheryl Boza of Disney community relations made available last week.
