Playwright Mark Brown, whose comedies Around the World in 80 Days and The Trial of Ebenezer Scrooge have been Orlando Shakespeare Theater hits, will take part in PlayFest’s keynote event, a conversation between him and Orlando Shakes artistic director Jim Helsinger, on April 8.

The Florida Professional Theatres Association will host its 30th Professional Statewide Auditions and Workshops for Actors’ Equity Association and professional Non-Equity actors on May 22, 23, and 24, 2010, at Riverside Theatre in Vero Beach, Florida. Approximately 12 to 15 professional theatre companies will come together to audition Equity and professional Non-Equity actors from throughout Florida and the U.S.
