Marshall wins John Goring award

Beth Marshall, producing artistic director of the Orlando Fringe, will receive the first John Goring Memorial Lifetime Achievement Award, to be given out in conjunction with Playwrights’ Round Table’s John Goring Memorial One-Act Festival. She’ll be given the award Sunday afternoon Nov. 14 at the Lowndes Shakespeare Center.

Goring Fest announces a staged reading

Erik Morris of Playwrights’ Round Table tells me that Booth in the Barn, one of the shows in the upcoming John Goring Memorial One-Act Festival, will be performed as a staged reading rather than a full production because of the illness of one of the actors in the cast.

Patrons’ Picks: Here are all of them

I’m a little late to the party: Many of these Patrons’ Picks were announced yesterday, when I was at the Fringe all day and night and couldn’t get to my computer to post them.

For those of you who don’t know, the Patrons’ Picks shows at the Fringe are those that sold the most tickets in their respective venues and are awarded a final show on Monday, Memorial Day, before they pack up for next year.
