The Pointe Performing Arts Center raised more than $700 for the Gay, Lesbian and Bisexual Community Center of Central Florida (otherwise known as the Center) last weekend with a performance of Torch Song Trilogy. Harvey Fierstein‘s trilogy of one-acts tell the story of a gay man named Arnold Beckoff, a drag queen dealing with love and loss in 1970s and ’80s New York.
The show continues through Nov. 14.
FantasyLand Theatrical held auditions for Torch Song Trilogy last weekend. (I missed reporting them, unfortunately, because the dates in the press releases were wrong.) But FantasyLand is still looking for one male age 17-19 for the show, which will be presented at Pointe Performing Arts Center on International Drive. If you’re interested, email Lowrie Fawley at email@example.com.
