An audition notice from the Sands Theater Company:
Sands Theater Company will hold open auditions for The Dixie Swim Club on August 7 and 8 (Sunday and Monday) at the Athens Theatre at 7 pm. An additional callback date is yet to be announced. The Athens Theatre is located at 124 N. Florida Avenue in downtown DeLand.
Performances will be held on Sept 23, 24, 25*, 29, 30, Oct 1, 2*, 7, 8 and 9* at the Athens. All shows start at 7:30 pm except for Sunday *matinees at 2:30 pm.
Five female members of their college swim team reunite every year at a cottage in the Outer Banks of North Carolina. In each of the 4 scenes the actor will be a different age. The play is funny and poignant. We are looking for 5 females who can play the ages ranging from mid 40’s to 70. Because of the versatility required, auditioners will be asked to read a monologue from the script in the various age categories. Gary Norris will direct.
No appointments. Sign-ins are accepted starting at 6:30 pm. Actors will be seen in the order in which they arrive. Callbacks will be announced.
